Cotton and Mr. Tombes,' ; 'Opus. The latter work was in response to Robert Baillie's A Dissuasive against the Errours of the Time published in Baillie was a Presbyterian minister who was critical of Congregationalism, specifically targeting Cotton in his writings.

Cotton also fought a pamphlet war with Roger on: Massachusetts Bay Colony.
